Why are some books checked out for months at a time?

The amount of time books can be checked out depends on the user's classification. University faculty and staff can check out books for 4 months. Graduate students can check out books for 30 days, and undergraduate students can check out books for 2 weeks. Books can also be renewed. You can place a recall request to have a book returned sooner.
